- A rare find! Originally called ‘Gluggle’ because of its characteristic ‘glug glug’ sound when poured, these jugs were first made in Staffordshire in the 1870s. Thomas Forester & Sons designed the unusual fish shape along with other unique designs in pottery and vases, which became popular household items. This special find is a Royal Winton jug who started to make them in the 1930s. The beautifully painted retro colours make it unusual compared to the newer versions of the jug. A real statement and discussion piece when visitors notice the jug in a kitchen!
