This incredibly rare WW2 utility dress with the double eleven (IIOII) label inside is a stunning example of a what was classed as luxury rationing clothing in 1947 and boy has it stood the test of time! Designed with a classic check tartan shirt dress silhouette it's made from crisp cotton and cut for a loose fit that can be cinched in using the leather buckled waist belt. It has wonder straight cut sleeves and the most incredible knife pleats at the hem, front and back, which give this dress great movement. The two breast pockets, stitch detailing around the collar to give the impression of a double collar and slight shoulder padding really finish this dress off just perfectly. Everything from the cut, high quaility medium weight cotton, leather belt buckle and the attention to detail really does show that the double eleven aka IIOII label really did mean luxury in 1947 and in my opinion today too. An absolutely incredible 1940s WW2 dress that is timeless in design and in perfect condition! STUNNING!
